Answer: Craigslist is probably your best bet for a decent deal because for the most part you are dealing with private parties in your area. However this can have some drawbacks as well. I'd certainly reccomend getting ANY used car checked out before buying it. The $40 it'll cost you to get a mechanic to look at it is well worth it because if you buy it and it has a major problem you're basically screwed. You also might try autotrader.com, that site has both private and dealers on it, although it seems most of the adds are usually from dealers. It's a little easier to find specific makes and models on this site because it basically lets you refine your search to whatever make/mode/year/price, whatever that you want, but of course when you are dealing with dealers you will always pay more than you should. goodluck |

Why do cars in Illinois have to go through emmisions? Question: I do not see the point, I mean they are already charging us an obscene amount of money for a damn sticker, I think emissions is just another point in harassing the public. I understand to help the environment but what about the poor person whos car fails and then its not street legal and then they have kids how do they get anywhere? Answer: Just because you are poor doesn't mean you have the right to pollute the air. If you can afford the car you can afford to maintain it. If you did proper maintenance on your vehicle it would pass the inspection. Air quality issues are real. It is EVERY person's responsibility to be an advocate for clean air to breath. Not just some people, ALL people. Now do you see the point. |
