No tax on Florida Cars purchased out of state?
Question:
I'm active duty military, and one of my co-workers said that if you are a Florida resident, and are stationed out of the state, and purchase a car outside of Florida, but register in Florida, you don't need to pay Florida sales tax. I don't know if this is true - has anyone heard about this? If so, how do I do it?

Why in movies/tv shows do they put a front license plate on cars registered in Florida?
Question:
I've noticed in Dexter and Prison Break that they have a Florida front license plate on their car but Florida does not issue front plates.

Answer:
It is because they film in California and instead of replacing plates when they use peoples cars for shows they just use a fake stick on license plate of whatever state it is and put it on top of the persons California plates. California has front and back so they use both. They use so many extras cars it is faster just to stick them on then to screw everybody's plates off. It is not really lack of research it is just convenience, the fact that they film here not there and have to use California props and landmarks and not actual Florida ones and sometimes just there own California mindset (for instance I filmed a scene the other day where they said it was winter in New York yet we were eating at an outdoor cafe).

should I start a business in florida driving cars home for seasonal residents?
Question:
Some retired people live in Florida only in the winter months and live in the north in the summer.

As a consultant who earns $75 an hour in a job I dislike, I would recommend doing a job that brings enjoyment. No amount of money can replace time lost.

Is it safe to buy cars from Florida?
Question:
I have been searching for a car on ebay for the past few months and noticed that the cheapest cars seem to be in Florida. I heard rumors that there was high amounts of salt from the ocean or something like that that wears the cars down faster than usual. Can anyone tell me if there is any truth to that, and also, if anyone knows a cheap shipper of vehicles from the States to Canada, I would appreciate the help.

Answer:
My brother just got a car from down south Florida and its doing well in the midwestern climate. I'd go with the facts that FL and CA have more vehicles than they require, but overall, if you can test drive the car or get some reference checks done, you should be able to get a good deal. By the way, if you're in Canada, the cheapest cars over the long run are actually Japanese cars (I say this from owning and driving Japanese, American & German cars for over 8 years). Terra2Imports and Japanese Car Imports are two of the top sites for importing cars to Canada. They will help you with shipping and auction deals as well.
