When I look at Yahoo autos, ebay and autotrader online most of the cars are listed by dealers! I am looking for a lightly used mazda 3, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa, or something economic on fuel that isnt a total bore to drive.

Try automall.com they have second hand pricing lists - lots of linked sites all over the States Its not the car that's boring only the people driving them - sounds like you've got a good selection.

Why in movies/tv shows do they put a front license plate on cars registered in Florida?
Question:
I've noticed in Dexter and Prison Break that they have a Florida front license plate on their car but Florida does not issue front plates.

Answer:
It is because they film in California and instead of replacing plates when they use peoples cars for shows they just use a fake stick on license plate of whatever state it is and put it on top of the persons California plates. California has front and back so they use both. They use so many extras cars it is faster just to stick them on then to screw everybody's plates off. It is not really lack of research it is just convenience, the fact that they film here not there and have to use California props and landmarks and not actual Florida ones and sometimes just there own California mindset (for instance I filmed a scene the other day where they said it was winter in New York yet we were eating at an outdoor cafe).

should I start a business in florida driving cars home for seasonal residents?
Question:
Some retired people live in Florida only in the winter months and live in the north in the summer.

Answer:
As a consultant who earns $75 an hour in a job I dislike, I would recommend doing a job that brings enjoyment. No amount of money can replace time lost.

Is it safe to buy cars from Florida?
Question:
I have been searching for a car on ebay for the past few months and noticed that the cheapest cars seem to be in Florida. I heard rumors that there was high amounts of salt from the ocean or something like that that wears the cars down faster than usual. Can anyone tell me if there is any truth to that, and also, if anyone knows a cheap shipper of vehicles from the States to Canada, I would appreciate the help.

Answer:
My brother just got a car from down south Florida and its doing well in the midwestern climate. I'd go with the facts that FL and CA have more vehicles than they require, but overall, if you can test drive the car or get some reference checks done, you should be able to get a good deal. By the way, if you're in Canada, the cheapest cars over the long run are actually Japanese cars (I say this from owning and driving Japanese, American & German cars for over 8 years). Terra2Imports and Japanese Car Imports are two of the top sites for importing cars to Canada. They will help you with shipping and auction deals as well.

Are cars in Florida supposed to move over if there is an ambulence coming in a hurry??? Is it the law?
Question:
I need to know if it is the law for cars to move over to let the ambulence pass through under any circumstances??? If they dont, then are they breaking the law?

Answer:
Yes it is a law. in all 50 states if you are able to move out of the way of the emergency vehicle then you are supposed to move. If it is not possible for you to move over then you are supposed to stop where you are so the emergency vehicle can move around you. You are supposed to move to the far right unless you are on a one way street then you can move to the right or left. under NO circumstances are you to move into oncoming traffic to make way for an emergency vehicle. if the vehicle can get around you THEY are the ones who have the responsibility and the right of way to move into oncoming traffic.

Does military pay tax on cars in Florida?
Question:
I just bought a motorcycle and now have to register it. I am in the Air Force and heard somewhere that I don't have to pay sales tax on the motorcycle when registering it. Is this true?

Answer:
To my knowledge it is not true. The state gets sales tax on every vehicle sale in the state. The only exception being if you take possession of the vehicle outside of the state of Florida and you also live outside of the state of Florida, you do not have to pay sales tax. However, if you're registering a newly purchased vehicle in Florida, you will have to pay sales tax. You can likely get more information at the Department of Revenue's website: www.myflorida.com/dor
