traveling by car from San Francisco Bay area to southern California? Question: Considering road closures and detours along with the weather in January. Santa Rosa to Whittier. quickest like to leave about 9/10 in the morning to miss the traffic in the bay area but that should put us smackdab in the middle of evening commute in sunny so cal. hoping to leave the rain behind us. Is it legal to have a hand gun in the trunk of your car in California? Question: I wanted to know if it was legal to have a hand gun in the trunk you your car in California. Say I was to hand cuff it to the inside of the trunk and keeping a loaded clip locked in the glove box as my glove box has a locking feature. Taking my DMV behind the wheel test tomorrow? Question: I am in California and have a question. In my car, there is a TINY little star crack in the front window by the passenger side. Will my car not pass the inspection before the test? Also, I am taking the test in Whittier, CA and if anyone has any tips for me for the DMV or anything else i would appreciate it... THANKS! Answer: If the crack is tiny, I am sure it will pass the inspection. They just need to be sure your vehicle is safe and legal to drive and for them to ride in. As far as tips to prepare, I'd also suggest following someone who is taking the test to see the route, then try driving it a time or two on your own. Other than that, relax, make sure your speed is reasonable, and pay attention to what you're doing. I was so nervous and distracted the first time I took my test that I nearly ran a red light. The second time, I was no longer worried, because I realized not passing wouldn't be a big deal any way, and I passed with flying colors. Good luck! |

June 4th 2:37 am 2011 the entire sky turned from dark to cyan green in the Los Angeles area, any ideas? Question: Last night me and a couple of friends were walking in Whittier, California in the morning. at around 2:37 am the ENTIRE sky turned a cyan greenish color and slowly flashed 3 times. It also made a noise that sounded like low pitched hum After it happened a police car stopped by us and immediately asked us what that light was, we told them we had no idea and after a long pause they just drove away. Does anyone have any idea what this was?! There was very little amount of clouds and there were no signs of lightning so it definitely was not that. I asked this question a few days ago and for no reason was deleted... i just want to know if there's a logical reason for this happening. Answer: Coronal mass injections/solar flares creating aurora. When oxygen high in the atmosphere is electrically charged, it glows green when the electrons fall to lower energy levels. Have you checked My activity to see if it really was deleted. Question: According to wikipedia ----------------------------------- Long Beach suffers from some of the worst air pollution in southern California and the United States. Most of the city is in close proximity to the twin ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and the prevailing westerly-to-west-south-westerly winds bring a large portion of the twin ports' air pollution directly into Long Beach before dispersing it northward then eastward over Whittier, Covina, Pomona, and Riverside.[11] Heavy pollution sources at the ports include the ships themselves, which burn high-sulfur, high-soot-producing bunker fuel to maintain internal electrical power while docked, as well as heavy diesel pollution from drayage trucks at the ports, and short-haul tractor-trailer trucks ferrying cargo from the ports to inland warehousing, rail yards, and shipping centers. Long-term average levels of toxic air pollutants (and the corresponding carcinogenic risk they create) can be two to three times higher in and around Long Beach, and in downwind areas to the east, than in other parts of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, such as the Westside, San Fernando Valley, or San Gabriel Valley.[12] The smell of burning bunker fuel, which has an odor similar to a car burning motor oil, is not uncommon in downtown Long Beach and other port-adjacent areas. Additionally, the Long Beach area is directly downwind of several of the South Bay oil refineries. Any refinery process or upset that results in the atmospheric release of refinery by-products (commonly sulfur dioxide) will usually impact air in Long Beach. Air quality events where large portions of the City are affected by strong-smelling refinery gas releases occur several times a year, although they largely go unreported. Similarly, the water quality in the Long Beach portion of San Pedro Bay, which is enclosed by the Federal Breakwater, commonly ranks among the poorest on the West Coast. Many Long Beach beaches average a D or F grade on beach water quality in the Beach Report Card published by Heal the Bay.[13] The Los Angeles River discharges directly into the Long Beach side of San Pedro Bay, and conveys a large portion of all the urban runoff from the entire Los Angeles metropolitan area directly into the harbor water. Answer: If you want to discuss a town with a true toxic atmosphere than I suggest you research Wilmington and not Long Beach. When I got transferred out here 6 years ago from Dallas I thought that my already bad allergies would be really bad here. I typically got very sick 3-4 times a year in Dallas because of them. Guess what? Since I moved to Long Beach I haven't gotten sick once because of my allergies. This past year our water quality ratings increased to A's and B's. The ports and the city of LBC have both taken dramatic steps in making sure the water quality improves. They're replacing old sewage pipes and they've placed numerous berms on the LA River to collect debris before it hits our beaches. Most of the pollution that comes from the LA River is from towns upstream and not Long Beach. The ports have installed electric plug-in's for the ships so they aren't burning dirty bunker fuel while they wait to be unloaded. If a ship is found to be polluting too much or even leaking fuel it is escorted back out of the port. The port has banned polluting diesel trucks and funded programs to replace old trucks. I've never smelled the refineries here. If you want to smell refineries, go to Texas, where any environmental protection is met with derision. The South Coast Air Quality Management District closely monitors the air quality with monitors and responds to peoples complaints. You can even got on their website and look at air quality maps. |

They grow marijuana illegally here and kill people who stumble on it.You have meth labs in the forest. All the wierdness and sick stuff of Los Angeles comes up here. Opening day, you have all these guys with bolt cutters cutting open the gates to the hundreds of fire roads and road shooting deer with handguns. I don't want people to see me. I don't wear hunter orange. Am I wrong? Answer: I agree with Glacier wolf under his conditions but having hunted the same area I have had greater issues dealing with the PETA folks deliberately interfering with my hunting. They will be out in the field opening day in great numbers hiking around and peeing on everything they find associated with a hunter they can find. Their main goal is to keep game as far away from hunters as possible if they see you forget being able to hunt at all that day as they will follow you all the way back to your car or camp. It's up to you really how safe you think the kid and grandma will be verses any peta types you may encounter |

I'm 13 and my Mom treats me like a baby? Question: Wow! my mom is the most annoying person I've ever known in my life she's litteraly going to case me to commit sucide! No wonder my Dad left us when I was born BECAUSE MY MOM PROBALLY DRIVED HIM NUTS! She makes me go to sleep at 6:00 PM which is time right now here in los angelas california. but now today she's at her friends house. She won't let me go out with my friends anywhere most of my friends are 14 or 15 and they all go to the mall and I just sit home doing nothing except playing video games or using the computer so I basicaly have no life. I mean I ask my mom if she could ATLEAST take me to go see my friends and watch us (Which is embarassing enough) She says "She doesn't have time" when all she does is complain about being a nurse and when she's not working most of the time she either goes out with her friends or watches tv. I mean on the bedtime it's summer! ussualy most kids go to sleep whatever time they want to go to sleep during the summer. Some during school time go to sleep some where like 10 or 9 or something like that my mom also yells at me for no reason (well for little reasons) (example: If I'm in the living room and I'm sitting on the couch and put my feet on the table she will yell loud and say "STOP PUTTING YOUR DAYUM FEET ON THE TABLE" also my mom won't let me swear...... She swears always she even swears to me sometimes when she yells. (example: What the hell are you doing?) or if we see something at the movie theaters she will say (What the f4ck is this?) My mom also embarasses me on purpose....one time in may 2011 I heard my friend Ronny was having a party and he inviting all middle schoolers to go so I wanted to go my mom said she would have to accompany me I said I didn't want her to and asked if She could just drop me off she then found out it was at 10 PM and said it was way past my bedtime and that it was in Compton if you wondering what compton is... in my city there's this area called South central los angelas where people say it's a dangerous place even tho it's not. the main reason people say that because it once was actually dangerous in the early 90's and 80's so then I sneaked out to the party and rode my bike Whittier (took forever) anyways I was there and had fun so then after the party I came home at about something like 2:00 or 3:00 AM Which is way late ( I will admit) so then my mom didn't found out then the next day She dropped me off at school because I was late for the bus. I was sitting in the passenger seat in my moms car then one of my friends Ronny (Who hosted the party) went near the window and said "the party was awesome last night thanks for coming" then my mom found out and then slapped me infront of my friends She also took away my video game systems that my UNCLE bought for my at christmas and then she sold them on ebay so now I'm even 10x bored at home and now thank god she forgot about taking my laptop Please take time to read this, I would like some advice.
