How do I get from West Covina to UC Irvine, preferably by bus or a train?

I tried researching on the the Internet for a line, but I couldn't really find one. I'll be staying in a friend's house, but I still don't know her address, but I do know that she's in West Covina. How do I get to UC Irvine from there? I know it's like 45 minutes by car, but since i'm trying to save money, I'd like to take the bus or the train. Thank you!

Okay! Here goes, but you may not like the answer. You would first board the Foothill Transit "Silver Streak" going eastbound. It travels along West Covina Parkway and only stops at Toluca Ave. and California Ave. Ride it to the Pomona Transit Center. Transfer to Foothill Transit bus # 286 and ride it to State College Blvd at Birch (Brea Mall). It lets you off on the northwest corner. Cross to the southeast corner and board Orange County Transit bus # 59 and it will take you to U C Irvine. (end of the line). The regular fare is $4.25 each way, but I'm sure you could get a student discount card. The distance is 50 miles, and the trip takes... are you ready? 3 hours, 40 minutes. If you would like to see this trip on the "net", go to "www.socaltransport.org" . In the "Where" column enter West Covina as the starting point, and U C Irvine as the destination. Answer the remaining questions to meet your needs.

yes there is route you can take first take the foothill sliver streak bus to El Monte station (get a transfer) then board a metro 577 express bus to Long beach then take the 577 bus to its last stop at the Long beach transit mall then board a LADOT 147 bus to San Perdo you can get ez pass which will be good on all buses for about $80.00 (although you will still have pay a zone fare on the silver street and the 577)

Ticket for no front plates in West Covina, not correctable $999.... WTF?

I got a ticket for no front plates and no proof of insurance. I have valid insurance, but the paper I had in my car from my insurance company (esurance) was expired. The ticket has both NO boxes checked next to both violations in the Correctible Violation area. When I call the court, the only options are to pay the bail of $999 or set up a court time. I don't understand why this is so much??? It makes no sense at all. I already set a court time to contest this because there is no way i'm paying 1k for a stupid front plate! Does this make any sense?? Can anyone please explain? I'd rather speak with a judge before I pay them. If he can tell me that not having plates on the front of my car should be a $999 fine, then I will pay them, and continue to hate.

As I see it, you have two choices. Either pay the fines and deal with the courts like any other citizen, or don't pay the fines and eventually they will double or triple the fine and put out a warrant for your arrest. Your choice
