Provided By Y! Answers

is there any other way to travel to san francisco from vallejo CA besides car or ferry? whichbuses or subways?
Question:
i usually go shopping alot in SF and travel regularly but i dont drive and going on the ferry is very expensive..i wanted to know how else i can get there? like which bus do i take where? or metro or subway? and btw i need to get around market street in san francisco from vallejo california. ill give you the highest points!!!! what the fuck am i supposed to do with that answer? laugh?

Answer:
- Vallejo Transit #80 will get you to the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station (4.50 one-way). http://www.vallejotransit.com/routes.html - You can then take the BART subway into Downtown San Francisco (3.80 one-way). http://www.bart.gov/stations/map/systemMap.asp Us ing the regular bus-subway combination costs $16.60 round-trip. The ferry costs $23.00 round-trip. If you do it this way, you'll save $6.40. However, you might notice that the passengers on the ferry are a more laid-backed and happy bunch (they have more money).

where can i go to learn how to drift legaly?
Question:
Hi, i want to learn how to drift my car but I have already recieved a ticket from a cop for wreckless driving trying to learn how to drift. I then heard that there was a place near where i live (Vallejo, Bay Area, California) where i can go. There, for about 5 dollars, i can use a racetrack and drift there. Does anyone know where that is?

Answer:
What I do where I am is ask the cops where is a good place to go to test my car. Alot of them will be nice and tell you a good place to go, but a few are still jerks about it. I actually got one to clock me with his radar to test my top speed!

Ticket fine in Solano County California?
Question:
I got pulled over right outside Vallejo on i-80 going 92 in a 65 zone (violation 22349). What kind of fine am I looking at? I already have 1 point on my record for a prior car accident. The officer also put 4 a.m. on the ticket when it was at 4 p.m. Do I have any leverage with that?

Answer:
92?!?! You got RECKLESS speeding for sure. The fine should be on the ticket though. Expect 300+

Where is a good place to find a car that is or less then $400...That will get me from point A to point B??
Question:
I live in VALLEJO California! Thanks for your help!! :D

Answer:
In today's world a person can't even buy a used transmission for under $400 and you want to buy a car that will be dependable for that price? Unless you've got a realative that's feeling sorry for you I wouldn't bet on buying anything under $3,000 that one could depend on.

NASCAR hates California-based race-car drivers?...?
Question:
It seesm that NASCAR has a rule that ALL drivers MUST live w/in a 50-mile radius of Charlotte, NC...WHY??? Take Kevin Harvick, for example:Born in Bakersfield, he and his new wife had just bought a custom-built house in nearby City of Tehachapi when NASCAR officials made him sell it and move to Charlotte;he's more homesick than ever before...Or Jeff Gordon(from Vallejo, near Oakland);NASCAR goons bought him a house near a supposedly-isolated lake and made him move there(he only lasted a week, then moved back to his adopted hometown of Indianapolis!)... The only exceptions are the Andretti brothers and Robby Gordon(from Artesia, near Long Beach)... Why would NASCAR officials enforce the North Carolina-or-else rule for its drivers? Look at the new pole-sitter for the '07 Daytona 500:he's from Riverside, but was forced to move to Raleigh in order to race!... That's downright ILLEGAL!... Your thoughts, please... Update:the pole-sitter for the '07 D-500 was actually born in Torrance, but now has to live in the Charlotte suburb of Mooresville(to appease the NASCAR folks)... This was a valid question, so please, NO MORE STUPID ANSWERS!!!... Thanks for your cooperation... Actually, the team owners DON'T have the authority, NASCAR officials have the final say about where the drivers AND team members live, and if they say you have to live in a 50-mile radius of Charlotte, then by golly YOU HAVE TO!... JMO... To that last person's answer, I'M RIGHT!!!:Jeff Gordon is a Californian by birth(City of Vallejo-NE of Oakland;his parents divorced when he was 13 and he moved w/ Dad to Indianapolis, where he still has a home in one of the northern suburbs)...Robby Gordon(no relation; was born in Long Beach, and still lives in nearby Artesia w/ his big family!)...

Answer:
Your question is based on false information... NASCAR does not force drivers to live anywhere. Sterling Marlin lives in Tennessee and has never lived in NC. The Hamiltons also live in Tennessee. There are also several drivers who live in Virginia. Mark Martin lives in Daytona. Whoever told you drivers are required to live in NC is a huge liar. As for Kevin Harvick, he still has a home in Ca. He chose to move to NC to be closer to his RCR team and subsequently to the team he now owns, which is in Kernersville, NC. By the way, Harvick lives about 85 miles from his RCR team and he's about 100 miles from Charlotte. If you will attempt to use some critical thinking skills, you would know that most of the drivers live in NC to be close to their teams.

never driven around california help please!
Question:
Im going to visit family in vallejo and will be going to spend a day at pier 39 i have never driven around california i will have a rental car what's the best way to get to the pier and cheapest place to park? Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Im well aware that pier 39 is an expensive place but im going either way ;) im sure there are lot's of different expensive parking places so out of them all im just wondering if someone knows one of the cheaper of the few! thanks Ok so is there any where i can park outside of the pier then take a bus or something to get me there? Im thinking i will drive from vallejo to a parking place then bus my way to the pier i just don't know where to park !!

Answer:
Just an advice: If you have never ever driven in California, keep your eyes open wide with pedestrians, especially in San Francisco. OMG sometimes I feel that pedestrians cross your way waiting being beated by your car to sue you. I agree with the answer above, better to use public transportation because when you aren't familiarized with a place, you're vulnerable to make mistakes on the way. Get off on Embarcadero Bart Station Take the MUNI F line towards Jones St & Beach St, Fare will be $ 1.50. Board, S Corner of Market St & Main St. Off Board, NE Corner of The Embarcadero & Stockton St Finally, walk 2 minutes and you will be arriving to pier 39 Another option is to walk from the BART station to pier 39, it will take you about 33 minutes. Also, you can plan your trips using this website http://tripplanner.transit.511.org/mtc/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST 2?language=en

Today, My 8 year old and I almost got killed on west bound 80 near the Solano Ave exit in Vallejo.?
Question:
Today, My 8 year old and I almost got killed on west bound 80 near the Solano Ave exit in Vallejo. A woman in a silver Saturn on my left hand side decided to change lane while I am right next to her. She was talking on her cell and obviously her mind is off the road. I then immediately turn my wheels to the right and avoided her but my car was a little out of control. After I regain control of my car, I looked at her and she gave me her middle finger. I was really frightened by this oblivious driver. I know that California on Friday banned motorists from talking on cell phones unless they use a headset or speakerphone, but it won't take efect until July 1st, 2008. Is there something we can do about people talk on their cell phones while driving? I don't want to die, or even get injured. My hands are still shaking but I am glad that neither my 8 year old or I get hurt.

Answer:
You were very Lucky! That woman doesn't deserve a license. She needs a swift kick in the fanny.

How does this story sound?
Question:
Tegan Pascal was brought onto this Earth on May 4, 1970 in Astoria, Oregon to Marcus and Olive Winslet. Marcus was an agnostic photographer of both French and Israeli descent, while Olive was a Buddhist protester of Grecian descent, born on Crete. Tegan lived in an ingenious environment with her sister, Giulia, in San Rafael, California. In 1989, she married Aidan Pascal, and they moved into a bi-level home in Vallejo, California where Tegan worked as an NPR broadcaster and Aidan worked as an independent photographer, and also at a local community garden. Tegan became pregnant and in the summer of 1990, Lux was born. In 1992, they divorced. Tegan embraced veganism, nudism, and marijuana. Lux graduated with honors and attended Lewis and Clark College with a degree in psychology. Upon graduation in 2014, Lux became a psychologist in Everett, Washington. Tegan moved to Vancouver, Canada. In 2020, she passed away when her car drove off a bridge and into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. But . . . I don't like how she dies. Can you help me think of another scenario for her death? No, I'm not preggos. I'm writing astory about this person.

Answer:

seeking opinions from those who have experience in large traffic jams?
Question:
from accidents on freeways, esp in California. IN AZ near PHX, we have ramp lights to help reduce congestion--to separate on ramp cars. IN CA--near SF and Oakland, I saw no such "process." Monday, between Sacramento and Oakland, it took normal time til we got to the W side of the Vallejo bridge. Then, it was bumper to bumper for 25 miles; absurd. I know on ramp lights would help, also faster Method to remove 2 cars in accidents; what else can make THIS SPECIFIC freeway retain its "fast operating freeway, from beginning to end?"

Answer:
Too many cars trying to go the same place at the same time. Solution is obvious. Change the need to go at the same time. Second part movement of PEOPLE need to change attitude with transportation people to see the difference. Not one solution for all.Transportation system is that a system of moving GOODS, SERVICES and PEOPLE from point A to Point B. Road and private car works in some areas bus bicycle train or on foot works in others. Need to start providing more than one way for all. If you own a car and can drive road freeway wonderful. If you are too young or have an inability to drive for any reason than the roads and freeways do not help you one bit. Try crossing from one side of a major road to the other if you are on foot. The walk to get around the "wall" can be miles just to get to the otherside. If there is no bus service to a stadium or mall how else can I get there.Traffic light meters ,carpool lanes, express lanes can only do so much. There is only so many spaces on the road you cannot just add more and more when it is full it is full. The solution is in finding ways to get less vehicles trying to go from point A to Point B at the same time.Shift route shift time of journey shift method of travel. There is no Magic one solution fits all it is the mixture of various things to improve the WHOLE system not just a few miles on one road or facilities for one town or community.
