Cost of living in Sunnyvale CA?
Question:
What is a reasonable cost of living for a family of 4 in Sunnyvale California? - 3-4 bedroom apartment - 2 cars - 2 kids in kindergarten Thank you

Answer:
3-4 Bedroom apartment or house (in an average area) - about $2G's a month. 2 cars? Costs about the same as anywhere else in CA. You would have to make around $80K a year to be merely middle class. The average two-income household should make around $120K or more just to be incredibly average in the area.

how many points do you get on your driving record, in California? How to fight Speeding Tickets?
Question:
OK heres my story, so i live in the Sunnyvale, California. lately cops have been on the hunt, and they sure got me twice, in two weeks. fml i was on the beloved 101 freeway the first time, at around 3:40pm and i wasn't paying much attention till i see a black car come out the carpool line and turn his lights on. cop pulls me over, he was a young guy (he was pretty nice), goes, "eh i was going 80 when you passed me.. blah blah blah, I said i was sorry and he takes my stuff goes and comes back he said im doing you a favor and only wrote me down for 75 in 65 and tells me that my tail lights are illegal (blacked out), give me the ticket for speeding only and let me go. So now like 2 weeks exactly later on memorial day on monday where we had a day off, it was nice a nice day, so me and my buddy headed to the beach to meet up with the others who were already there. it was 3:20pm and I was about to get into santa cruz after the windy ass highway 17 , on that last down hill before it branches out to highway 1, I get pulled over again. This time it was a motorcycle cop who was hiding right behind a over pass, under it on his bike with his reader. I Saw him with his reader in his hand aiming at all the incoming traffic and stared hitting the breaks, when I drove by him I had already slowed down and set the cruise control to 65 which is the limit. He took off from his little spot and I saw him stay back for a while then he deiced to catch up and once again turn his lights on to pull me over. This time he was a dick, just took my info and wrote me up for 81 in a 65, I had told him that I was just cruising down the hill not in gear (my car is manual), and he goes well thats another violation, but he didn't write me up for it and let me go. But dam these cops another speeding ticket. Now my question is this, since these tickets are in different counties, what are my options? Does anyone know Scotts Valley, CA rules and prices for speeding? Remember that im 18 years old, I drive a 2009 Scion Tc, these are my only tickets since ive been 18. how many points do we have on are records to start with? How many will these count for? I haven't gotton the letters yet, but if anyone could tell me how much this will cost, or if I should fight it or not, please help me out. Im a collage student, and I hate cops! And having to pay so much its just not F***in fear!! WTF!!

Question:
I drive the car okay without any issues on freeways. There is an oil leak . The car does overheat once in a while especially when stopped at a signal light for more than 1 minute. Otherwise it is very drivable. My mechanic quoted me 1800$ all included . it is a good price or I am getting ripped off? I live in Sunnyvale , California

Answer:
You are not getting ripped off as long as he does a good job. That is a good price. Especially for the section of CA you are in.

Need help making a difficult decision to move to California or New York?
Question:
I am a single person from Connecticut having a hard time making a difficult decision to relocate either to New York or Northern California. They both have something good to offer. I need a new start and dont need to be closed to home. I do really hate snow would like to get out of that terrible weather. I need to be in culturally diverse place. I was looking at Berkeley or Sunnyvale, CA. I do not mind driving a car. My real concern is to be in a safe environment. I am looking for a good neighborhood with a low crime rate and it must be affordable with easy acess to great Universities or colleges. I am thinking about going to law school. I am interested in working in the international relations field. I really need your help in making this decision. Thanks

Answer:
As far as affordabilty goes, New York is the highest, Sunnyvale next and Berkley next...but all expensive as far as rents go. Berkley is a great town with a fabulous University, diverse cultural scene and accessibility to San Francisco. They have a highly rated School of Law and there are many acclaimed law schools in the city also. Stanford's not too far away and offers stellar opportunities in your chosen field. Unfortunately, there are no "safe" enviornments unless you move to a farm in Nebraska. You are mostly responsible for your own safety, using basic good sense, no matter where you go in the world. I can't stress enough the fact that you'll have a fabulous time at Berkley. Great town.

Contesting a speeding ticket?
Question:
i received a speeding ticket in sunnyvale, california. i got caught driving 50mph in a 30mph zone. my ticket states he caught me on radar gun. i asked around to see how i can get out of paying this ticket and the responses ive heard was that if i take it to trial and the cop that gave me the ticket does not show up, then im good to go. also if the cop is a rookie, they are required to show up. the cop that pulled me over was driving a POLICE SUV driving it alone giving me the notion that he definitely is not a rookie. I would like to know, if i were to take this to trial, are my chances of that cop not showing up good or bad. im 80% sure this is all about revenue for i was not even on the gas pedal at the time and i was just cruising my car down a hill on a green light. i see that cop every now and then patrolling the same area pulling over other unsuspecting drivers. the way i see it is that maybe he just gives out as many tickets as he can and the ones that have the balls to contest it gets away but the ones that dont end up paying and bringing in more revenue. I would like another opinion on this situation. Perhaps if anyone is a cop or a friend to a cop and would like to throw in their two cents, please do so. Thanks so much

Answer:
Agencies generally require its Officer to come to court. If they fail to come to court they could be written up. Besides we get paid time and half in overtime for going to court. So the vast majority of us love to go to court. We get to sit around and tell each other stories while waiting to testify. I would say the chances of the Officer not coming to court are somewhere south of 5%. Even if the Officer does not show up for court it does not mean you automatically win. If the Officer has a valid reason then the case will be continued. Sometimes we get sick, have training, or are on vacation. Your revenue comment is not going to win you points and is only going to show the court your thought process. If the Officer believed you were speeding then he can pull you over and cite you for speeding. The Officers motives for writing you a ticket are not an issue the court is going to entertain, there is no way you can read the Officer's mind. I can also assure you that we don't get a cut of the ticket fines. We get paid the same if we wrote no tickets on a shift or fifty. The big question is, were you speeding? If you were then what's the problem? Pay it or go to court and try to get them to cut you a break. If you don't think you were speeding then go to court and tell the judge why you don't feel you were speeding.

What Legal Action Can I Take?
Question:
i put my camaro on kijiji and a guy emailed me said he would buy it said he would send a money order or certified check when it got here after 2 weeks it was fraudulent then the guy contacted me wanting to buy the car with another email 3 other times with all different email addresses with a different story of y he could come pick it up and needed it to be shipped and all said he needs to pay by money order then i had another add on kijiji for a drum set and he email me with another story of y he needs to send a money order I think his plan is he want me to cash the check for the amount i was asking plus like an extra 2000 that he wants me to send back to him for the shipping i no its the same guy because of the way he writes an email plus i tracked his ip address and all of them are pretty mich the same and i located the ip address and all of them go to the same place in sunnyvale california and i live in ontario Canada wat can i do the ip doesnt give me an address or a name so how can i dind him and wat can i do can i sue can i press charges Im not dealing with him he just keeps emailing me with different names and eamil addresses These answers r no help at all Of course its not ganna work the check was fake did u read the question

Answer:
You can't really sue. However, what you can do is insist upon being paid in cash, in person. If he wants it delivered so badly, then he can find someone who WILL give you cash for the car at the time of sale, and arrange for delivery. Just delete all the emails that the guy sends you, don't bother replying. If he wants you to cash a money order or certified check, and send him the difference, just delete the email. He's not going to read any reply you send to him. And yes, it IS a scam. Some people try to set up the scammers, but unless you're really bored and have a lot of time and money to waste, I'd say don't even bother.

92 Mazda Protege Cranks but does not start?
Question:
i have 1992 Mazda Protege. Some times when i make multiple short trips what i experience is that when i put keys in the ignition and try to start, it cranks and seems like it will start but the car does not start. I just wait for 5-15 mins and try again and the car would start fine. It is becoming very irritating. If i just take it to work in the morning and back home it works fine, i have noticed this during multiple trips. California's Best (Evelyn Sunnyvale CA) could not get it to act up so could not repair and asked for $65 in labour. 1. I have brand new batteries (6 months old) 2. New Timing belt 3. I have used Ignition Cleaner to clean it. Some symptoms i have obsered is i see lot of smoke when the issue is observed, sometimes the steering wheel seems locked and break is very stiff. No specific time for issue. Also once it starts, i can also take it on a 100 mile trip. But i sometimes get late for my errands because it just wont start! Any help is appreciated. i have not checked the alternator, but someone told me if the alternator is bad, it won't even crank. i have not checked any other ignition, even when i replaced the battery, they were not sure if it was the battery that was causing this.

Answer:
My guess is that your losing the ignition spark when it cranks, but won't start. We had to replace the complete distributor unit on a 1994 Mazda Protege for the same reason. The car would run fine for awhile, and then intermittently stall out while driving the car. The ignition module and other sensors are located in the distributor housing. It's an easy job to remove and replace the distributor. Make sure your distributor rotor and cap have been replaced in the last 20,000 miles too. You should also change your spark plug wires and spark plugs if they've never been changed. The ignition module and/or sensors are electronic and sensitive to engine heat, so you probably experience the problem when the engine gets really hot later in the day and your sitting in traffic with no air blowing over the engine as you get driving down the road. Also, a "hot soak" occurs when the engine's real hot and you park the car. Then the underhood temperatures rise dramatically because there's nothing cooling the engine anymore. Then, a short time later when you try to restart the car, the ignition module has been soaking in high engine heat and a fault occurs.
