Are cars cheaper to buy in Virginia or California?
Question:
I am moving from Northern Virginia to Irvine, California. I need to buy a car. Moving the car is paid for my company, so should I buy the car in Virginia or should I buy it in California? What would be cheaper?

Answer:
Id go with virginia because california just wants your money lol. You could also check how much a specific car would cost in cali and one in virginia and also take into consideration how much tax would cost you because cali is pretty high like 8% or so.

Answer:
In Southern California, cars are THE way to get around, especially longer distances like that, so if you can get someone to give you a ride, that is your best bet. It might be very difficult to find service going home after the evening concert. However ... there is a Metrolink / Amtrak station not so far from the amphitheatre http://www.cityofirvine.org/depts/pw/irvine_transpo rtation_center/irvine_transportation_center.asp http://www.met rolinktrains.com/ http://www.amtrak.com/ If you can get downtown to LA Union Station, you can get a train to there, and either a bus or taxi to the Amphitheatre. The trip will take quite a bit of time (2 hrs minimum from Compton) and also be fairly costly (Compton - LA, LA - Irvine, Station - Amphitheatre). Check out the OCTA site http://www.octa.net for information about buses from the station to the amphitheatre. For example: Public transit Walk to Irvine Center-Sand Canyon About 13 mins Bus - 70 - Edinger/Moulton - Direction: Golden Lantern-Dana Point Harbor Service run by Orange County Transportation Authority Depart Irvine Center-Sand Canyon 8 mins Arrive Irvine Center-Hubble Walk to 8800 Irvine Center Dr About 1 min To reach 71 Fortune Dr, you would take the same bus, and get off at Irvine Spectrum. It's about 1/2 a mile from there to the Amphitheatre. You'll need to coordinate the various schedules ahead of time. On Saturdays, service can be very infrequent - some buses only run once an hour.

Running a red light in Irvine, California?
Question:
Today I was really stressed and out of it. I was driving home from dropping off a friend and I was at an intersection that really isn't very busy near the UCI campus. It isn't next to any shopping centers or the university, just near some residential areas. I was super out of it and I went through the intersection. There were only a couple cars around and it didn't really affect any of them. The red light switched to green less than a second after I entered the intersection, but it was definitely red when I entered the intersection. Am I going to be ticketed and if so how much would the ticket be?

Answer:
Anyone saw you? Any cameras in the intersection? We only have cameras on the big intersections in L.A.. Life Happens. You got caught, or you didn't. If they has a camera they did or didn't. If they send you a ticket you may or maynot get one. If you did if figures it is an ticket only for the purpose of raise money as no one really cares. It is just part of the cost of living in modern times.

What are available financial aids for University of California Irvine?
Question:
I don't really know how to state my question because I've been living in the Philippines since 2 months after birth. I was born in America so I have an American passport and a dual citizenship (American and Filipino). Recently, we took a vacation there in America and I liked the lifestyle there much better. I have an aunt who lives in Anaheim and her house is only 10 minutes away by car from UCI. I've been told by that aunt that because of my American citizenship, I can have like a loan plan or something like that. I don't really get it. I'm 15 and I am a sophomore student in high school. I will have graduated by March 2011. My mom told me to start searching for financial aids or scholarships. Here in the Philippines, I currently study in De La Salle Zobel School (if you don't know this, you can search its wikipedia page or go to http://www.zobel.dlsu.edu.ph ). I currently get line of 90 grades (highest possible would 100). More specifically, my grades range from 90-94 which is A-. Sometimes I do get 88 or 89.

Answer:
Your only 15? You have awhile to go before scholarships and loans will apply to you. Wait until your senior year to start looking. Because you won't be starting college anytime soon, financial aid is pointless to you. During your junior year start investigating the scholarships that UCI has to offer. Then during your Senior year, start writing your essays and apply for your FAFSA. Your FAFSA will be your main ticket to loans, grants, and scholarships.

Why is Fox "News" lying about federal loans used for fuel efficient cars?
Question:
Lie #1: Fox News misleadingly reports that loans will build cars that cost $89,000 and $109,000 In fact, Tesla loan and most of Fisker loan will finance less expensive sedans 68 percent of Fisker loan will finance manufacture of $39,900 "Project Nina" vehicles. Tesla loan will finance $49,900 Model S sedan, not $109,000 Roadster. Lie #2: Fox News suggests loans will only create jobs "in Finland" In fact, most of work related to the loans will be conducted in the U.S. Fisker's Project Nina will be assembled "in the U.S." Tesla loan finances factories in California. Lie #3: Fox figures falsely claim Fisker, Tesla are European companies In fact, Fisker and Tesla are American companies Fisker based in Irvine, California. Tesla based in San Carlos, California. http://mediamatters.org/research/200909280033 All the links and sources to energy department and car companies are listed at website in case you don't believe and are willing to take everything Fox "News" tells you at face value. So the links and sources they use in their research are not credible? Will you please point out to me which links and sources are not credible? It's amazing how millions of Americans are willing to believe everything they hear on that channel and when an organization like Media Matters which merely points out the half-truths and lies they present and backs them up with credible links and sources, people are not willing to look into it. They take everything Fox "News" tells at face value, and are not willing to question what they hear. These are the type of people you want when you impose totalitarianism on them. Okay, if Media Matters is lying, than point out to me why they are lying! Here I am bringing forth research with links and sources to the car companies and the Energy Department itself and you guys still say their lying! If sources and links are not good enough for you, than I guess nothing is. Fox viewers not only believe what they are told, but they WANT to believe what they are told.
