Question: i will be staying at a hotel near the california state university, the hotel is near the freeway which is very convenient for me as i will be with a car but i want to know if fullerton, california is a good, safe area for myself and my family to go vacation there for 4 nights and visit disneyland and other attractions? is fullerton a good area to stay or is there a lot of crime? btw, im staying on east nutwood road or something like that Answer: That's a very nice city and within driving distance of so many other entertainment venues. I'd research all these places, so that I could visit as many as I want while out this way. The beach is great...... why NOT Long Beach.... a hop, skip, and a jump from Fullerton! ;-) |

Were the evidence was kept. It has been kind of hard to see through all the smoke. Not to mention water damage, and now they don't know what dump the fileing cabinet was took to to dig it back up. Here’s the problem: A Friend has confirmed through a records request that there were only two calls to the police for auto burglary in the Fullerton Transportation Center on July 5th, and neither one had anything to do with Kelly Thomas or anyone else in the area at the time - In fact, one call was made early in the morning and the other came in at 11:30 pm, well after Kelly Thomas had already been beaten to death. Both calls were for stolen catalytic converters, an unlikely target for a homeless man with no tools. So what really led officers to investigate a vehicle burglary at 8:30 pm on July 5th? Why were no calls logged or reports taken before Kelly was arrested? Who reported a crime, and how did they report it without going through the dispatch system? Answer: Jeremy Popoff |

Anyone been to Fullerton California? Question: I think im going to college there this year and I have never been to Fullerton. How is it? compared to other places? also how far away from LA is it? (time by car) Answer: I agree with Nades.... well put. If you don't have a car though... you just need to live close to campus and there is a "less than moderate" amount of shops and coffee houses etc... that area within walking distance. I don't know where you are from but the only public transit in the are is the bus system... you could use that too or your bike if you don't have a car. The night life in and around Fullerton is half way decent. There is a 'downtown' district that has a strip of bars and restaurants nestled together.... makes it very convenient to bar hop and it also is very fun... there are a lot of different venues to choose from... Downtown Brea is close by too, it is more family oriented, great movie theatre, shopping, and a few bars and restaurants. There are a few 'clubs' in the area... nothing flashy like you would expect to find in LA or Holywood... but it is what it is. You can find nightlife in Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Laguna, Irvine, other cities considered to be in South Orange County which would take about 20-40 minutes to drive depending on time of day and traffic patterns. If you can, come down for a 3 day weekend with a friend and check it out so you get a better idea of what is in store for you!! Take care, |

First Speeding Ticket in Fullerton California? Question: Im 20 years old and I got my first speeding ticket today in Fullerton at a 40 limit. The officer stopped me and he told me I was going 57 mph. He didnt show me any speed o meter thing and I didnt ask to see it because I didnt have my mind straight because I was so nervous. But I dont think I was going 57 mph. Is it possible that the car in front of me was going 57mph and the officer thought it was me? Is there any way to get out of the ticket? Is there any way I dont have to go to traffic school without getting my insurance going up? Help !! Answer: If you lose, you will have a ticket on your record. Then, if you insurance company sees it, you might see an increase. Go to traffic school. It will not appear on you record with DMV. Be careful though. If you get another ticket and try to go to traffic school again, before 18 months have transpired, the insurance company will know, since your DMV will show a second attempt within 18 months. (My wife did that one). |

What will likely be the Charges for the Beating Death of Kelly Thomas by Fullerton California Police Officers? Question: CHINO HILLS, James M. Dorn: "Police say they were investigating a report of possible car burglaries and he [Kelly Thomas] resisted them. [Struggling 'significant', Orange County Register August 12, 2011.] Several basic first questions have not been asked. •The first question is: were the "possible car burglaries" reported anonymously, possibly by a 911 call? If so, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled this is insufficient probable cause to detain someone. In such a case, the initial police contact with Thomas may not have warranted the use of physical force on him. They could walk up to him to ask questions but he would have been under no legal obligation to answer them or even to stay there. •The second question is: what were the facts given by the caller that supported the police in believing "possible car burglaries" were or had been committed and was a description given by the caller one that reasonably matched Thomas? Lacking sufficient facts that crimes had been committed, which somehow pointed suspicion toward Thomas, the police would not have had insufficient probable cause to detain him. •The third question is: what exactly did he do to resist the officers? This is a key question matter if the officers had sufficient probable cause to contact, or detain him, or they lacked it. It may be the deciding question because legally, the police may exercise reasonably necessary superior force to overcome force used against them. These all boil down to the probable cause to contact Kelly. The use of the phrase "possible car burglaries" implies the caller was providing a guess more than a statement of fact. We have no idea if a description of a possible suspect was provided or, if one was, did it fit Thomas. The absence of a statement that that a description of him was provided implies that one was not or was so general. It could fit practically anyone in the area. The inference points strongly to a caller who provided few if any specific facts to provide probable cause to contact Thomas, let alone detain him, and who may well have been anonymous. It is unclear, but it seems that he may not have been known as anything more than a mentally unstable homeless man. In such a case, most of the police officers I knew when I worked the job, would have approached this call very circumspectly. When all the facts come up the picture may change, perhaps drastically, but the limited facts known at this time are not in the officers' or Fullerton's favor. Answer: Kelly's dad describes the officers as rogue, and dont deserved to be called police officers. So corruption of power sounds good, murder, stuff like that. The justice system would rip them apart, as they do not take kindly to corrupt police |

Even though I am sad he died, I am afraid that the illegal alien man will feel terrible for his whole life. America will use his Hispanic, illegal alien status against him. They will use his previous arrest and conviction for drunk driving against him. They will use his fleeing the scene against him. He was driving without a license, they will use that against him. He didn't have insurance, they will use that against him. They will use speeding against him. He was from Riverside, Ca. They will even use his redneck, low income status from the "hood" agaist him too. We need to stand up for the Andrew Gallos so they get treated fairly also. Answer: If true, all the points you made show points to him doing wrong things. Therefore, why should the law protect him? Oh yeah, let's not forget he killed three innocent people. |

Any good/cheap body shops in southern California? Question: My car is in need of a paint job in the bumper areas and some help in a slight dent and such. The city where I live does not provide good body shops/etc. with reasonable prices (300+ for one scratch is insane, I found a body shop in San Diego that would do 300+ for the whole bumper since now there are more scratches except one). Are there any good ones in Southern California? Somewhere around Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia, Yorba Linda, Buena Park, La Mirada, Brea, even Chino Hills/Diamond Bar? Thanks for all your help/time. Answer: A 300 dollar paint job without any body work will look like garbage, let alone if body work needs to get done. You get what you pay for, if you want a 3 hundred dollar paint job, expect runs and dont expect it to last more than a year. |
