There are commuter buses running to Tracy from Dublin BART in the afternoon/evening, and from Tracy to Dublin BART in the AM. ACE train also goes from Fremont to Pleasanton to Tracy and there is a shuttle from Dublin BART to ACE rail. Yahoo "Dublin BART Tracy bus" for some websites, also 511.org will have any other resources I missed.

Can I register a car from Washington state in California?

that's fine, all he needs to do is sign the title like he normally would date it give you the car and title which you then take down to a California DMV pick up a LARGE FORM fill it out and give it to the gal behind the counter. It needs to go through emissions testing, but a 2005 I doubt you will have any problems, we used to sell them to friends and family for a buck, for whatever reason this involved a lot less paper work, but its been awhile since I have done that. You can always call the dmv ahead of time, sit on hold but ask which is easier, to gift it, or to sell if for a dollar and see what the dmv says to do. you will need the new insurance card (by law, a car new to you, is insured automatically for 30 days) (its not free, you have to tell the insurance company the date) bring your policy number card, a smog test, the title the car, your drivers license some money, patience, they have to check the vin number on the car, with the title to make sure they are the same.

In this case it might be best just to get a replacement vehicle. You can find these for under 5k with decent mileage in most areas. The engines themselves go for around 2-3k used not including installation. Rebuild would probably be cheaper but it really depends on the damage done to the engine. So...you know...it's your choice.

It's not exactly convenient from Fremont, but I know that there are a lot of brand-specific junkyards just outside of Sacramento, in Rancho Cordova. If you are looking for something specific, they could probably ship it to you if they have it.

I don't know of one website that only lets you rent and pick up cars from the airport. But when I'm in the Bay area and need a rental car, I usually try bidding on Priceline first. I looked myself and on yahoo some people had said it is fine by law, one lady had three car seats, however, I wanted a direct answer about California car seats and how many are allowed. ALSO MY SECOND mini question is, does the rear facing have to be in the middle and the front facing in the side or can it be either ways?

Yes you can put 2 carseats (or more) in your back seat as long as there is enough space and enough seatbelts to install them properly. There is no law stating that any carseat (rear or forward facing) has to be in the middle, but it is safer for the seat to be in the middle. I have a 24 lb 13 month old son who sits rear facing in a convertible seat, and a 7 week old daughter who uses an infant seat. Both seats are in my car, but they had to be installed on either side (niether one in the middle) because they could not be installed properly right next to eachother. You may also want to turn your 18 month old back to rear facing if your seat will accommodate it, though the law says 20 lbs, it is safer to leave the child rear facing as long as your seat will allow it (my son's convertable seat can rear face up to 40 lbs.) ---btw I live in the east bay, not far from freemont

What's the law for bike riding in the Milpitas and Fremont area or California? I am 15 and in the morning I ride home on my bike from swimming from a local high school pool. There is a bike lane going in the opposite direction of where I'm headed when I come home, until I hit the local neighborhood where I also ride through. Once, I met a woman who said that it's illegal to ride on the sidewalk. I don't know if it's actually illegal or she just made it up because both of us stopped to make way for each other and she got irritated. Also, is it illegal to bike in the opposite direction while on the road on the bike lane (I think yes, but am not sure). My parents are scared of me taking the bike lane and I'm also a little scared of passing cars that are too close, so I prefer the sidewalk too, but I'm worried.
