This is going to be our first military move! Help?
Question:
My husband is graduating Tech School for the Air Force June 4th. In about 3 weeks :) he has a sponsor who is No help to us at all! He got orders in March to Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield California. We called to put our name on the waiting list a few weeks ago and I just checked online and his name isn't on the list! We tries calling about lodging last week but noone picks up the phone! Were soo lost! We need our car moved there asap (were fro Hawaii) so it has to be shipped like next week in order for it to get there around the time we do. Transit usually takes 2 weeks. We feel soo lost! He even went to the people there at his school for help about moving and how things are paid for but he said they're no help at all. Where do we stay if there's no housing available when we get there? Does the military pay for a place for us to stay? If we paid to ship our car now will they reimburse our money? and does my husband get time off to look for a house if base housing isn't available? Please help! We have a 2 year old too and Im really worried things aren't gonna fall into place like they say it is. Thanks everyone :)

Watching a friends injured chihuahua, pls help?
Question:
Yesterday, my best friend had her dog in the car and as she closed the door, her chi tried jumping out. She got stuck between the seat and the car door, now she is limping. My friend just had her baby tonight (hence why I'm watching the dog). They have literally no money, especially now that the baby is here. I want to help her chi because im worried she might have a fracture on her leg but I really dont have any money either. Is there some sort of low cost vet clinics, specifically near fairfield, california? Do low cost vet clinics exist? I want to help her I just dont have much money. I have an emergency vet savings for my 2 dogs and my barn cat... But I just cant exhaust ALL those funds because then my pets wont have any money if they need it. If I dont help her, my friend honestly wont because she just financially cant so please help me help her.... Btw, please dont tell me to make her get rid of the dog. Its not my place to tell her what she needs to do with her dog. Do I personally feel she needs a new home for lack of vet care and training? Absolutely. Is it my place? No... So please dont say it, thats not the point of this question, I just need some info on helping this little girl. Thank you for the answers, I look forward to reading them

Answer:
Stop! Not to be rude but the first poster recommended Tylenol. DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT give that Chi or any dog Tylenol. If anything give the dog a Benadryl. 1/2 a caplet (pink oblong pill not capsule) to 1 full caplet for the entire night. This should make the dog drowsy enough to fall asleep and keep it off the leg until we get you more emergency vet info, which I will be back with shortly and there are other regulars that should be posting it soon as well if they are online! This is a link that list the low cost vets. I am in California too. You can contact your local humane society or the ASCPA. They have low cost and some have programs. Also contact Actors and others for Animals. The can help financially but I o not know if it is possible for emergency situations, meaning the time of process for the funds to get to you. I have one more resource to look up. I will add to my post one I locate it! http://www.google.com/search?q=low+cost+vet+fairfeil+california &rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid= ie7&rlz=1I7GGIE_en I think you are just an angel to do this for your friend and I do realize it would be uncomfortable for you to approach a friend to tell them something not positive about their treatment of a dog. However, what if this little defenseless Chihuahua was in more serious of a condition or much more pain and suffering. That would make me uncomfortable if I were you because you seem to a responsible dog owner. All I suggest is think about the bad situation this dog is in, not tonight or even tomorrow, sometime over the next month or two maybe just bring your friend to a higher awareness of what a good and responsible dog owner is verses the bad owner. And she just might realize how this dog is being treated. That way maybe some quilt will set in and she may start to take more interest and better care of the dog without you actually having to say something directly. Drop hints, bring up a mutual friend who is not a good dog owner. Any way you can think about it. Besides with a brand new baby she will be too exhausted emotionally and physically to realize take hold of anything at the moment if you were to say anything considering the present situation. Good Luck and I hope this helped! *;* One more thing I thought I should mention. I do not know what breed dog you own and because you are dog sitting I thought I should mention that Chi's, being the smallest breed in the world CANNOT handle a lot of substances they come into contact with whether they are toxic or not! Example, if my Chi were to sniff the yard freshly fertilized yard even if time for "safeness to pets" has passed could become very ill. Opposed to my Rottweiler or APBT sniffing that same area. Remember, if this little guy were to ingest something (not objects) that is potentially harmful and dangerous, like Tylenol for instance you can always induce vomiting withing the first 30 minutes. But do not use that as a catch-all, emergencies ONLY! Keep an eye on the little booger! lol
