did someone witness a car crash in el monte ca on feb 24 2010 on durfee?
Question:
i wonder if that lady is ok the one with the baby, does someone know what happend?

Answer:
Is there a newspaper in your home town or city that has a free section that includes comments from its residents? If there is then email, fax or write to that paper with details and they might print it in the paper in that section. That would help to reach more people that are local and might have witnessed it as opposed to this site that might only elicit silly responses. My husband's car was hit in a parking lot while he was coaching a little league hockey game. He posted the accident in our local paper to see if anyone had witnessed it. The good that came out of it was the assistance and well wishes we had received.

How reliable are muscle cars?
Question:
How would something like an old Nova, Monte Carlo, El Camino or V8 Vega hold up for daily driving? Could it do 100 miles non stop assuming it was quality restored? And could it handle rain? what about snow?

Answer:
Of course. Like theprevious guy said, what did they used to drive? Manual steering and no-power 4 wheel drum brakes will make it more, lets say, "interesting", but in my opinion that adds to the personality of the car. If you leave it alone, (not throwing on a supercharger, a huge cam, and adding 16:1 compression) you can run them forever. And if it does let go, you can fix it in 5 minutes. I wouldn't use it for daily driving though, these cars are from the 30 cent a gallon era. Classic muscle are more for Sunday cruisers, not running back and forth to the office everyday

how do I find out info on 69 el camino G.M heritage center dosn't go back past 1977?
Question:
I have the 69 el camino that came either from the factory or the Dortwhiler dealership in El Monte Calif. with a dana 4/11 posi rear end. I have orig. P.O. which states it was ordered with a posi rear end, but not what kind. G.M. Corp. refered me to The G.M. Heritage Center but their archives only date back to 1977. it was first purchesed by grandfather in Oct. 1968. I've been around the car all it's life and the rear end has never I repete never been out of the car. the dealership is no longer in business. So all you car buffs where do I go to get rock solid info. on this car and yes I've heard all about how this can and can't be possible. I do know cars and this is whats in this car.

Answer:
Go ask the pro's on http://www.chevelles.com Its a website dedicated to chevelles and el camino's They will be able to help you decode anything you need and have a lot of general trivia on these car's that most dealers lost years ago.

I need help learning about cars?
Question:
I want to know where i can learn more about cars, im 13 and want to get a el camino or a monte carlo i know they require work and I want to learn stuff about what i can do to put them in good shape. Or you could give me a sight to give me information would be good to!! Thank you :D

Answer:
> I need help learning about cars? A good way to help you learn, is to HELP ANOTHER PERSON, while they repair their own car. That way you are just assisting. And you can learn by watching and asking. If you just jump in, you may find yourself over your head. === Just yesterday, I replaced a starter. The manual just says to remove 2 bolts. I did. The starter was still stuck on. BUT, I knew enough to get some block of wood and knock it loose. TWO wacks of the 2x4 wood block and the starter was loose. :-) That kind of knowledge only comes from experience (or helping somebody while learning first). Good luck.......

What 3.73 posi rear end will bolt up to a 84' El camino?
Question:
I did my research and i found that a monte carlo same year has a straight bolt up posi that be a quick change, but are there any other cars out there that has a posi for the elco? I herd they affect your gas mileage so are there any 383 motor friendly posi's? thankx

Answer:
Very few G-body cars such as the Monte Carlo, El Camino, Malibu, etc. had posi rear ends, and none had 3.73 gears. If you want 3.73 gears and posi, you'll have to look for a built rear end. Any 10-bolt rear end will work. Most G-body cars had the 7.5 10-bolt which isn't as strong as the 8.5 10-bolt. If you have a 383 stroker with good amounts of traction, you definitely want an 8.5 because the torque will destroy a 7.5. So my advice is to check craigslist for 8.5 10-bolt rear ends with posi.
