There is pretty good transportion in the city, and communites close to San Francisco. The real problem with driving your own car is that parking is extremely limited and VERY expensive, especially if you commute every day and stay for several hours. Research the bus, train and light rail lines before you move. (Samtrans, CalTrain, SFMuni, BART) If you manage to locate your home near one of these lines and work reasonably close to one, you'll be much happier taking public trans. Many people take a combination of public transportation and bicycle.

Our first house after we got married was in Daly City, so I lived there for 8 years. I think it's a safe area with nice middle class people who are fairly thrifty and not stuck up. Generally they keep to themselves as we Asians are more private, but that doesn't mean they are snotty... just private. You can't really tell if they are rich because they don't flaunt it. Most people drive Japanese cars for the most part, from "ricers" to Odyssey vans. Many house have a couple of families in them such as grandparents, parents, and kids. I'm trying to figure out your very run-on sentence to see what else I can answer... Nothing special about the DC/Pacifica border since it's mostly houses... on Skyline Blvd, there are some outdoor malls, but these are mom and pop stores mostly. We could probably help more if you gave more info about you, what you are looking for, and why you're asking.

Got a speeding ticket in school zone in Daly City,California, opted to go to court in June, need some pointers?

Here's the situation: In Jan 2009, around 1pm, high noon, weekday, EMPTY road, no traffic, no cars parked, very wide two way road, 4 lanes total, I was driving down a long winding rode in Daly City, CA, Guadalupe Canyon Expressway, speed limit 45mph going around 45-50 as I go down the hill, I see the police officer on his bike on the left side like 30 feet away. Naturally, I slow down and approach the stop sign coming up, full stop naturally. As I finish my stop, the cop, who was to the left of me, immediately pulls up behind me, and says I was speeding up in a school zone?! He then writes a speed limit of 50mph on my ticket. Naturally I am very pissed. I got to court and the judge says I am not eligible for traffic school because I had a stop sign citation earlier last year....he asks me if I want to settle or fight it. I opted to fight. Was that a good idea? I have no exp fighting an officer in court. Anyways, my court date is in June 2009, hoping that he either doesn't show or his memory is fuzzy. need some help! What should I do? On the ticket he says no radar used...if that helps.... thanks guys any suggestions are appreciated! i know I slowed down to 25 within the school zone, i was going down fast but no so fast that it was dangerous....but he said that I was speeding up in the school zone??? what do u guys think?

I don't understand what you are trying to fight. You state that the speed limit is 45mph and you were going "45-50 as I go down the hill". The cop wrote the ticket for 50mph, which you just admit you were going....so, what are you arguing? The cop doesn't need to have used a radar gun to be able to write you a speeding ticket. To get radar certified, the cop has to be able to visually estimate the speed of a vehicle. Also, he could have paced you going 50mph. If you already admit that you were "speeding", then just pay the ticket and don't waste the courts time by trying to fight this in court.
