I am betting that the one at Sunrise and Greenback has to be another bad one. Too many idiots who run the red light.

How much does it cost to live on your own in Sacramento, CA?

I need to move out when I turn 18 due to problems at home and with my family. How much would it cost, realistically, to live on my own in a studio apartment in sacramento, roseville, citrus heights, rocklin or the surrounding area? I mean the bare minimum cost, including car insurance, rent, food, medical insurance, etc. I would be paying for everything on my own. Thank you for the input!

The car insurance will vary depending on your driving record, the vehicle, and how far you commute to work; so it's hard for me to guess that amount. Doing a quick search on Craigslist (Sacramento), I can tell you there are studios & 1 bedrooms that are under $500/mo, but no idea how those neighborhood are. One thing you need to keep in mind is that a landlord will want either first & last month upon move in - or first month and security; if they want both, keep shopping or see if they will work a deal where you pay a bit more every month until the security deposit is covered. Another thing you may want to consider is a roommate situation; but be sure that you SCREEN the roommate; they aren't a criminal or scanky! Medical insurance is huge, so hopefully your emplyer has something affordable to offer. Not sure if medi-cal is still available in your state, but check. Food for one (on a healthy diet - no junk food) could run you about $60/week; shop wisely. Overall, keep in mind that your rent should be less than 1/3 of your monthly income; ideally 1/4 of your monthly income, but in CA that could be hard. Last time I lived in Sacramento was early '90s. Had a roommate - she was a bit...well. unique....but the price was right. Best of luck & stay safe!

Is that true?

Years ago, Citrus Heights had some trouble in a couple of neighborhoods. Since becoming a city, it's a great place to live. They have their own police department and are very intrested in the city's image, so they act quickly when problems appear. The crime problems are few, compared to most other cities and there is good police presence. Heaven't seen or heard of any significant drug problems in several years. Other nearby neighborhoods that you might consider are Fair Oaks and Roseville. Orangevale is pretty good too.

Android phone lost!!!!!!?

Can anyone help?!?!?!?!?!?! I was at Uproar and I had my Samsung Behold II with me and my BlackBerry as my back up battery because the Samsung phone sucks with battery life. So, anyways. At the end while trying to figure out how to get home. The Android dies and I decide to move the Sim card over to the BlackBerry. But, not the media card with all the vids and pics from throughout the day of the concert. Now, I decided instead of putting the phone in the bag we had. To put it into my other pocket. Now, theres only me, my friend, and this one other guy left. So, no one that went there couldn't of taken it. It has a lot of my info and the media card in it. Now, I've gone back to Marysville and I didn't see it there and none of the staff found it. Along with the fact theres no possible way of it falling out if throughout the day I was running and jumping around and it never fell out then. And it's not in my friends grandmas car. So. Its either in my bed (in Citrus Heights) when I through my pants on their. Or, its in Marysville somewhere. So, heres the question. There's no sim card in it. Its dead.
