So I find this hard to believe, and i don't have any kids, parent's you tell me?!!!? Question: There is a case in my town here, yesterday they found two missing childrend 5 y/o boy and 4 y/o girl dead in their parents trunk. Horrible right so i watched our local news while getting ready for work this morning this is what they said:
The death of two small children found in the trunk of a car in a Northwest Arkansas neighborhood has police looking for answers on what went wrong. Investigators questioned residents at a neighborhood in Springdale Tuesday after they found two small children dead inside the trunk of a car at a duplex in the area.
According to police, the children were four and five year old siblings living at #@$% in Springdale.
Authorities say the children's mother called police at 4:35 p.m. on Monday to report her four-year-old daughter and five-year-old son were missing.
Police say they arrived a short time later, but searched the home and neighborhood another 35 minutes before they found the small siblings unresponsive, inside the trunk of the family's car.
Medical help was called to the home, but they pronounced the children dead at the scene.
Springdale Police Sgt. Shane Pegram says they're still investigating, trying to find out just what happened. "There's a strong possibility that the kids may have very well just been outside, and found a way into the trunk, closed it on themselves, playing a game, but we want to be very thorough in our investigation. We're going to have detectives out today in the neighborhood, going door to door, speaking with neighbors, with other children, just to make sure our investigation is thorough, and we don't want to rule out anything at this point." Even though police say it's too early to tell if foul play was a factor, they add it is an important lesson for parents to keep kids from playing in vehicles, especially on hot summer days.
Police say the vehicle was a 2000 Chevy Malibu, and add, the children's bodies will be sent to the State Crime Lab for further investigation.
Police say the last time a child died in the trunk of a car in Springdale was in 2003.
The cause of death has not been released.
The names of the five-year-old boy and four-year-old girl have not yet been released and the deaths remain under investigation.
After years thinking they could not have children, Chris and Katrina Markley say things were finally turning around, and they were packing up to move to a bigger home with their budding family.
But Monday, their dreams for the future were shattered. Chris says, "we're not going to move into that home in Bella Vista. We just don't see the need now." Katrina says she thought her kids, 4-year-old Virginia and 5-year-old Curtis, were playing with a little girl across the street, but says what happened next made her heart stop. "The little girl from across the street came over, asking for them, and I thought they were with her, and she said, 'no.' " So the whole neighborhood spread out to search, but Katrina says soon, her worst fears were confirmed. "I was about two streets over, and I was right here on the corner when I heard my mom scream, and I just ran over here, and I seen everybody standing at the end of my car." Long-time family friend Jack Wilson was one of those at the foot of the Markley's car, and describes what happened as he summoned police. "The grandmother opened the trunk and she started gong hysterical, screaming. And we went over there and the children were laying in the trunk. They were laying there just like they had snuggled up and went to sleep." With the sudden loss of their only son and daughter, the Markleys are looking to memories of their childrens' lives for comfort. Chris describes the two: "they were always wound up, always happy. I mean, I wish I had a 1/4 of their energy." And while Curtis was already a country singer, they say Virginia was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty. "She was 4 going on 18, put it that way." Chris demonstrates: "You know that thing you all girls do when you put your hand on your hip and toss that head around? Oh, she just had that down pat." Mom and dad add, the Markley kids were two peas in a pod. "They were together for everything. If one was getting in trouble, the other one was right there getting in trouble." And Wilson says simple mischief may have been what led to their deaths, instead of foul play. "[It's] just really sad, and of course, the police, they finger-painted the car and all that and found little finger prints shutting it." Now Chris Markley says even after they move, they'll never forget the little fingers that mischievously painted these "murals" on their living room walls. "I'm going to miss her dearly. I'm going to miss my son dearly. They were the only two I've had, and I loved them both."
The family says soon they'll hold a memorial service for their children, in Springdale, and want to thank the community and their loved ones for continued support.
Does this sound not right to you?? Who lets thier kids out on th
Answer:
4 and 5 year olds should NEVER be outside without supervision.
Parents must always make sure a car is locked after useage - especially the trunk. I feel it's the parents fault for this incident.
It sounds like the mother felt they were both older and could fend for themselves................NOT!!!
