Problem is if it is too hot, they won't allow the animals to go cargo... I don't know what the airlines determine is too hot, but I know Yuma in the summer is too hot. - so you would have to fly from San Diego or LA, unless this trip is for later in the year. Also, my cousins in NE are telling me it's about 95F right now, so you might not be able to get her home, if it's a summer trip. |

What is there to visit between San Diego and Yuma? Question: Hi I'm thinking of taking a day trip out of San Diego into Yuma Arizona. I want to know what is good to visit, eat, and see between here and Yuma. I'm taking the 8 freeway. I was planning to stop at El Centro but I have no "official" plans, just want to get in my car and see what's out there. Look for recommendations of what is out there. Answer: 8 east heading out of San Diego is Vieja's Casino and a huge mall. Then a bit further up is the "Bread Basket" restaurant. Pretty good and nice setting. Julian is up there, then in Barstow is a really neat Mc Donalds that looks like a train and has a gift shop in it too. As far as yuma not too sure but I live in San Diego so I hoped that helped a bit. Have fun! |

This checkpoint is located on the I-8 eastbound and is staffed by US Border Patrol and Customs agents. I had a small, personal amount (about 1 grams) of Marijuana in my car, and the drug sniffing dogs alerted the agents to my car. They had me pull over and asked if they could search my car. They found the marijuana and a small pipe and gave me a ticket for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphenalia. Does anybody know what I am looking at as a penalty? should i get a lawyer? is it gonna go on my permenant record? Answer: Yes, you will be charged with posession. Possession of Marijuana can lead to a variety of legal repercussions, including jail time, monetary fines, probation, driver’s license suspension, community service, rehabilitation, electronic monitoring, treatment programs, or registration as a drug offender. Although this all depends on the amount actually found. Get an attorney to represent you and you'll have a better chance at having a reduced sentence, and yes it will be on your permanent record. |

What kind of penalty am I looking at for possession of Marijuana in Arizona? Question: My friend and I (Both San Diego locals) were stopped at the US Border Patrol checkpoint in Yuma, Arizona about 15 days ago. This checkpoint is located on the I-8 eastbound and is staffed by US Border Patrol and Customs agents. I had a small (about 2 to 3 grams), personal amount of Marijuana in my car, and the drug sniffing dogs alerted the agents to my car. They had me pull over and asked if they could search my car. They found the marijuana and 2 small pipe's in the car. I was honest with the US Border Patrol and Customs agents about the location of the Marijuana in the car and that I had no intent to sell the Marijuana and that it was for person use only. He asked me if I was aware of the No Tolerance law in AZ, to which I responded No, as far as I was aware in California as long as you possessed less then an ounce of Marijuana with no intention to sell, it was a $100 max ticket. He said in AZ, I might as well have been caught with a Brick of Pot, as the law is different in AZ and all Marijuana possession in considered a major felony. They ended up giving my friend and I a ticket for felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The agent said that I was not the type of person I was looking for and actually apologized for delaying us for so long (we were at the check point fro close to 3 hours) . There was no DUI and after seizing the stuff and writing it up, they sent me on my way in my car. I have to return to Yuma in a few weeks to appear in court. We both have no prior Police records for anything, including no speeding tickets, etc. I have read that their is a $750 minimum penalty in AZ. Does anybody know what I am looking at as a penalty? Or has anyone out there been through this in AZ, as the Customs agent informed me that they stop on average 5 to 10 people a day from CA on the same charge. THANKS FOR THE REPLY!!! Answer: I have not worked law enforcement in Arizona for a few years but I believe that it still is; -Less than 2 pounds (not for sale) 1 year in prison (Class 6 felony) and minimum fine you will pay is $750, your fine will equal 3 times that value not exceeding $150,000. -Less than 2 pounds (intent to sell) 2 ½ years in prison (Class 4 felony). -Less than 2 pounds (transporting into Arizona) 3 ½ years in prison (Class 3 felony). |
