How to take a great photo of a car?
Question:
Background: Lake St.Clair Car: 1994 Cutlass Supreme Convertible (white) Conditions: Partly cloudy with sun How should I take a picture that will really show off the car? How should I park the car in accordance with the lake? Car has been washed & waxed. Tire shine put on all the tires. Any advice would be nice. Camera- Cannon Power shot a590 is 8.0 MP and 4x OZ

Answer:
A few things come to mind. First, the lighting is the single most important element. Shoot at either early morning or late afternoon when the sun casts a nice warm glow of light on the car. DON'T shoot at anytime around noon. This creates horrible shadows and washed out colors. I would have said set a small aperture on your camera for most depth of field, but you probably cannot do this with your camera. Also, a tripod, remote cable release, low ISO, and mirror lock up, but again, your camera is not capable. Here is the biggest problem I see with your scenario. Why are you shooting with a lake in the background? Think about it. A car is not a boat. A lake has no point as a background for a car shot, and if you are not careful, you can make the car look like it is trying to be in the water. I'm sure Lake St. Claire is very beautiful, but it has no relationship or meaning being a background for an auto photo. Plus, what do you want your subject to be, the car or a lake? By trying to incorporate each in the shot, you are detracting from both. Find a place such as a strip of road, or an unused race track, or the side of an old garage, or an abandoned drive in. Just something that says CAR! If you were taking a shot of a boat on a trailer, then the lake background would be fine. See my point? The Powershot is a decent little point and shoot, but it is not truly the proper camera for something like I think you are wanting. It is designed for snapshots and does not give you the control needed for this type of shot. Still, you can get a decent photo if the lighting and background compliment the car. steve

How to handle babies and HOT summers?
Question:
This summer is hot, at least for us. Not Africa hot, but hot just the same. It is about 30 degrees Celcuis for over a week now. I have a 3 1/2 week old baby. We have been going to the lake for the day alot( the only place to stay cool). I have been wetting the babies hat and socks and putting them on him (not freezing cold, but slightly cool). I have been putting him in the shade as much as possible and feeding him on demand (breastfed). I keep a blanket over him (not on him, but over his car seat and stroller) to keep the bugs and sun off as much as possilbe. Any other tips?

Answer:
Leave him in just a diaper ~ keep everything off him. Most of your body heat releases from your feet & head. NO socks & NO hat will keep baby cooler. keep him in shaded area & no direct sun light.

Do you believe the best things in life are free?
Question:
Today, we went for a drive in the new car. I decided to turn round and when i did stumbled upon a piece of beautiful woodland, from there we walked and found two huge lakes, noticed a few unusual birds, the rain poured and then the sun shone, we came home and had a hot chocolate! But when you pay a fortune for planned things they seem to be a little less pleaseing. Do you agree?

Answer:
Excuse me but how can you say the best things in life are free, then in the same breath say how you went for a drive in the NEW CAR?! Err, what! No sorry, presumably this new car was NOT free! If you didn't have the money to buy the car, you wouldn't of had the lovely walk and experience you had. I never heard anyone poor say that the best things in life are free. Or that money doesn't buy happiness. Its about having things in proportion and evenly balanced. If you have NO money, then nothing you get for free will make up for the fact that your opportunities and choices remain very limited. Ditto with "buying" happiness. You can't buy the feeling of happiness, but money buys you more opportunities, so you have more experiences and are far more likely to "find" happiness through what you are then doing.

Which of the following primarily involves heat transfer by convection?
Question:
A. After sunset, you can feel heat from the warm pavement. B. The water in the lake is so cold that your legs become numb. C. As you lie on the sand, you can feel the sun's warm rays on your skin. D. You roll down the car window to allow the cool breeze to blow through

Answer:
b and c are both examples of convection... convection is the transfer of heat by the movement of air or liquid past a surface

Would Worshipping The Sun Be A Good Alternative to God?
Question:
thanks george. Several reasons. First of all, I can see the sun, okay? Unlike some other gods I could mention, I can actually see the sun. I'm big on that. If I can see something, I don't know, it kind of helps the credibility along, you know? So everyday I can see the sun, as it gives me everything I need; heat, light, food, flowers in the park, reflections on the lake, an occasional skin cancer, but hey. At least there are no crucifixions, and we're not setting people on fire simply because they don't agree with us. Sun worshipping is fairly simple. There's no mystery, no miracles, no pageantry, no one asks for money, there are no songs to learn, and we don't have a special building where we all gather once a week to compare clothing. And the best thing about the sun, it never tells me I'm unworthy. Doesn't tell me I'm a bad person who needs to be saved. Hasn't said an unkind word. Treats me fine. So, I worship the sun. But, I don't pray to the sun. Know why? I wouldn't presume on our friendship. It's not polite. I've often thought people treat God rather rudely, don't you? Asking trillions and trillions of prayers every day. Asking and pleading and begging for favors. Do this, gimme that, I need a new car, I want a better job. And most of this praying takes place on Sunday His day off. It's not nice. And it's no way to treat a friend.

Answer:
Perhaps, I don't think it needs to be worshiped. Its existences gives a strong enough presence for everyone. Unlike gods which are only as powerful as the people who spread words about them. If there is no one to spread word about that God, the god becomes forgotten and is erased from presence. But the Sun will be there, it doesn't need anyone to tell others that it exists. It endures.

Why do politicians put the environment off so much?
Question:
Like instead of fighting over oil can find other things to use like burn waste or garbage for fuel.We should fund throwing garbage in to Space with rockets in to the suns path. Or the government can pay all major car company's to build current Models exclusively hybrid or electric. Why do we have to put off planet jumping for 30 years can we start sending greenhouses on to mars and find ways to build lakes and growing soil so seeds can spread

Answer:
Have you been hiding under a bridge like a troll for the past 30+ years? Signed, The EPA and the Department of Energy

Answer:
Hi again, glad to see yer still here. To directly answer the question, it varies, and can be very loving, flirtateous, seductive to some expletives used in the moment, but in the end, very steamy. Your piece, expresses in sometimes abstract ways, and at other times easy enough to get it ways, with class. I enjoyed the read.
