Why are they busting up and melting down beautiful jumbo jets in Arizona?
Question:
I was driving past Marana Arizona and saw a gigantic collection of modern jets. 747 and many others, all looked ready for flight. I drove as close as I could and came upon a security guard at the gate, several simi trucks were leaving with chunks of these planes, and the guard said hundreds of good planes are flown in here in and stripped, shredded and melted down, I asked why and he said so the airlines could buy new ones! I'm telling you I was shocked! If they cost hundreds of millions each, and are able to fly in, why not re ferb and keep flying? My car is 18 years old and needs this and that, but hell, the thing is paid for. One 747 from Northwest was shining like it had been painted recently .

Answer:
If it was a Northwestern it has been parked there for at least 4 years since the Delta merger. Here is one discussion from 2008! http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.ma in/2867149/ Search "Pinal Air Park" lots of photos etc. http://www.google.com/search?q=pinal+air+park&hl=en&client=firefo x-a&hs=E8N&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvnsfd&tbm=isch&t bo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=fxLtTs2oKMOUtwfSremPCg&ved=0CDgQsAQ&biw= 1024&bih=447 Sometimes the cost to refurbish exceeds the value of the refurbished plane, in that case they are scrapped. Ps- here is a good read about the Airpark http://www.johnweeks.com/boneyard/#SITEE Evergreen Aviation operates at the field.

2000 Ford Contour Transponder Key in Tucson, AZ?
Question:
Does anyone who live in Tucson or Marana, Arizona know where I can get a replacement transponder key for my car. The dealership would do it, but I will need to tow the vehicle which costs more money. The Jim Click Ford says it will cost $110 for one replacement key. But the cheapest locksmith that will do it is $185. Anyone know who will re-key for a cheaper price. Thanks alot!

Answer:
I think towing the car and going to Jim Click would be cheaper than the locksmith. Other than that, I'm not really sure where else to look.
