Flatbush Av strecht from Flloyd Bennet Field to downtown Brooklyn by Tillary St. Best option will be: Step 1: Take Manhattan-bound (Q) or (R) from DeKaLb Av to Canal St or Queens-bound (J)(Z) to Jamaica Center. What are your thoughts U.S. citizens are starting to show up in the early mornings at Home Depot?
Question:
It sounds like a George Lopez joke. “Times are so bad that I saw an Anglo day laborer standing outside Home Depot the other day.” Except it’s true. In the latest sign of the Las Vegas Valley’s economic free fall, U.S. citizens are starting to show up in the early mornings outside home improvement stores and plant nurseries across the Las Vegas Valley, jostling with illegal immigrants for a shot at a few hours of work. Experts say the slow-starting but seemingly inexorable trend is occurring nationwide. “It’s the equivalent of selling apples in the Great Depression,” said Harley Shaiken, chairman of the Center for Latin American studies at the University of California, Berkeley. But it is not only a sign of the times, they add. If the numbers of citizens among the day laborers in cities across the country continue to grow, it’s likely to increase the ire of followers of TV host Lou Dobbs and others who will see illegal immigrants as stealing food off the tables of the nation’s native-born or naturalized poor. Or, it may flip certain canards upside down in the immigration debate, easing tensions in some communities. In the Las Vegas Valley, where the most recent unemployment rate was 13.9 percent, one face of this phenomenon is Ken Buchanan. The 50-year-old describes himself as a “food and beverage” guy, most recently working for four years at Renata’s Sunset Lanes casino and, before that, 30 years in a string of restaurants, hotels and casinos here and in his birthplace, Chicago. But in 2006 Renata’s closed for remodeling. When the casino reopened as Wildfire, the management did not rehire Buchanan, he said. In the months that followed, Buchanan discovered the difficulty of seeking work in his fifth decade, eventually winding up at Green Valley Car Wash, where he stayed for about two years, he said. The banks foreclosed on the house he was renting. In the attempt to grab his things two steps ahead of the constable, he wound up missing work. He lost his job. He became homeless. A Hispanic man Buchanan met in Renata’s sports book told him he had picked up work standing outside the Home Depot on Pecos Road at Patrick Lane. One July day, Buchanan gave it a try. At first, he got nothing but sunburn. But then he started to get work. Now he’s at the Home Depot six days most weeks. Pablo Alvarado, executive director of the Los Angeles-based National Day Laborer Organizing Network, said he has been seeing the same thing elsewhere. “It’s happening, though still not in massive numbers,” Alvarado said. In the past six months or so, he has heard of “americanos” on the street corners and parking lots of Silver Spring, Md., Long Island, N.Y., and Southern California locations. “It’s just beginning,” he said. “But I think it’s only going to increase.” http://m.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/nov/02/new-faces -day-labor/

Answer:
Home Depot should run all of the hispanics off or call immigration. I have seen them out at a home depot on the coast after katrina, i called immigration and they were not there the next day. US citizens are going to have to start taking drastic measures with all of this because the government is doing nothing. We need to take care of our own people instead of a bunch of illegals or foreigners. If these people want to come over here then they should have money saved to come with. I bet if we went to their country, DO YOU ACTUALLY THINK THAT THEIR GOVERNMENT WOULD HELP US? NO THEY WOULD NOT. Start complaining inside the home depot and furthermore, arrest the people that are hiring these illegals and fine them no less than 100,000 dollars and it would come to a halt.

What are some other riddle games like Black Magic and the Valley of the Green Glass Doors?
Question:
I love riddle games like these for car trips esp. when some people know the answer and a few don't. It's sooo much fun to tease the people who don't get it and try to help them figure it out. Just so you know The Valley of the Green Glass Doors is played by saying "In the Valley of the Green Glass doors you can bring..." And then list only words with double letters like "yellow giraffes" and then list things that cannot be taken such as "brown monkeys". Black Magic is played by pointing at multiple things and saying "This chair is not black magic. That door is not black magic. Your teeth are not black magic. His socks are not black magic" Then you point to something that IS black, and then the next thing you point to IS black magic. So every non-black thing you point to is not black magic, and then after you point to something black, the next thing you point to is black magic. Black magic is anything after you pointed to something black. Sorry but "I'm going on a picnic" is the EXACT same as "I'm going camping." Any other suggestions? Oh sorry nevermind I didn't have "I'm going camping" listed. It's another game that I already knew though :)

Answer:
There is another similar game called "I'm going on a picnic" and if my name is Bob then I can bring anything that starts with the letter b, like butter or brownies, but I cant bring juice or anything else. I would say something like, "I'm going on a picnic and I'm going to bring a bicycle," and you would say, "Alright, you can go." but if I said I would bring pizza, you would say i can't go.

Going to Vegas in September, want to visit Henderson,NV for possible move next year? How far is Henderson?
Question:
I am going to Las Vegas in September and I want to go to Henderson for 1 day. I heard they have a shuttle that will take you from Mandalay Bay to Green Valley Ranch in Henderson. Has anyone taken that shuttle, how much does it cost. Any information would be appreciated. Or would it be better just to rent a car and drive around Henderson myself?

Answer:
Just moved into Henderson about 8 months ago. I lived just off the 95 near the Auto Show Drive exit. Henderson is quite expansive and there are lots of different types of neighborhoods as people have mentioned already. It's nice...close to the city (takes about 10-15 mins max on the highway to get to some of the downtown exits of LV), schools are good, and lots of parks. Seems to be very citizen friendly with lots of recreation dept fliers coming in my mailbox every month or so. Middle class and mostly residential neighboorhoods. If you are sightseeing in Henderson, I'm not really sure what's to "see" besides a few more casinos and strip malls...however, the Hoover Dam and Boulder City are only about another 15-20 mins beyond Henderson so that is definitley worth a trip out to see. Have fun!

Your opinion will this lead to looting & burning cars, smashing windows etc, Groups vow ‘civil disobedience’?
Question:
Several Arizona organizations on Tuesday will announce plans for a “day of action” against the state’s new immigration law that will include “rallies, vigils and civil disobedience.” The coalition of faith, human rights, immigrant rights and humanitarian organizations will lay out their strategy at a press conference at 11 a.m. at the Arizona State Building, northwestern corner of Congress and Granada in Tucson. Simultaneous press conferences are scheduled in Flagstaff and Phoenix. The groups are calling for “non-compliance” with SB1070, which is scheduled to take effect July 29. Next week’s protest is scheduled to begin at 11:30 p.m. July 28, and will run through July 29 in downtown Tucson, according to the group. It will take place regardless of a court decision that could delay implementation of the law. Many groups have said the law would invite racial profiling and would harm illegal immigrants in the United States while others say it mirrors existing federal law. Among the participating groups: Coalición de Derechos Humanos, the Ya Basta! Coalition, Border Action Network, No More Deaths, Tucson Samaritans, Green Valley/Sahuarita Samaritans, UA Against SB1070, Tucson May 1st Coalition, We Reject Racism-TYLO, Jewish Voice for Peace, Alianza Indigena Sin Fronteras, the Restoration Project, Alliance for Global Justice, International Action Center of Tucson, Tucson YWCA, Calpoli Texixcali, the Guatemala Committee, and the Southwest United Church of Christ Justice and Witness Ministry. http://www.gvnews.com/articles/2010/07/19/breaking_news/doc4c44 ef07aeb3f738247771.txt And Churches are saying illegals are not required to obey the laws of the land even though the Bible states they will and must ? I like these names Jewish Voice for Peace, vow ‘civil disobedience’ how does that work out ?

Answer:
ALL I CAN SAY, IS THAT ANYONE WHO TAKES A PART IN THIS KIND OF LAW BREAKING, SHOULD BE ARRESTED AND PUT IN JAIL.. FINED AND IF THEY CAN'T PAY IT, KEEP THEM IN JAIL. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM AND THEIR WHOLE FAMILIES SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR ID AND CITIZENSHIP PAPERS, AND IF THEY HAVE NONE.. DEPORT THEM, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.. THEY HAD BETTER DECIDE.. ARE THEY AMERICAN OR NOT. IF THEY DON'T LIKE THE LAWS OF THE LAND.. THEN LEAVE!

What was this song that was played in the movie "The green hornet?"?

Travel tips to Nogales Mexico?
Question:
Can you give me some travel tips to Nogales? Do you rent a car on the Mexican side of the boarder? Where do you park your car? Is there a bus from Tucson/Green Valley? What are some of the fun things to do there? Does it make sense to stay a few days? Safe/inexpensive places to stay? Thank you very much! Oh, also do you need to be careful drinking the water in the boarder region?

Answer:
I have never been to Nogales, have been to Baja many times. How do you like the beach? Are you up for a drive to Guaymas? Now is time to drive down and soak us some sun on the Sea of Cortez. Do you like seafood? I don't think you can rent a can in Mexico, you can buy insurance in Mexico, US insurance won't work. Or risk it and drive carefully and do it without insurance. In Mexico, the speed limit is in kilometers, but Mexican drivers think 80 Km is the minimum, not the maximum, you will see what I mean. Drive carefully, even if you have insurance. Any place that has a website will to more expensive than average, when you get to where you want to go, walk around and ask the price, don't pick the first place you see and don't pay the shown price, ask for a discount, pay in advance is possible to get discount. Cash speaks louder than credit. Check the weather, drive far enough to go swimming. My brother retired in San Felipe and it is too cold this time of year to go there. Mexican Bus service is good or so I have read. You may want to take the bus from Nogales to Guaymas. Wear a money belt or fanny pack on the bus and walking around. You are in a poor foreign country. Research and planning are key to fun travel. Look before you leap.
