Wheres a good place to go in Decatur, Alabama?
Question:
Me and my boyfriend are going to Decatur, AL to pick up a friends car, what can we do while we are there? Or is there somewhere near that we can stop? Something we can see or do?

Answer:
I lived in Decatur years ago, even went to school there. Usually, my friends and I went to Huntsville for entertainment. The Space and Rocket center is there, along with nightlife and shopping. Decatur has grown, but still has limited nightlife and restaurants. Huntsville is only 30 minutes max from Decatur.

Is there a site that I can see inside of car?
Question:
I am going to buy a Mustang (White) '96. but I never seen one up close in person. is there anyone that can tell me where I can go to see? I want to know:: are the seats leather or regular material for example, are there cup-holders? what does the dash board and steering wheel looks like, what the gear shift looks like etc This is NOT the mustang im buying, but its the same model, and color, etc. http://www.motortrend.com/used_cars/14/1998/ford/mustang/ba se/alabama/decatur/228240478/113/index.html Thank You everyone! :)

Answer:
You can visit www.autotrader.com and search for the type of car that you are looking for. You can look at others like the one that you want to find out what you want to know. It most likely has cup holders though, and the seats were probably at least available in leather covering, if not standard. I hope this helps.

Is this further proof Alabama new immigration is a success thus far ?
Question:
ANDALUSIA, AL (WSFA) - Andalusia Police are working with Immigration and Naturalization services after an intoxicated man detained for trying to leave the scene of an accident turned out to be wanted for failure to appear on deportation proceedings. Andalusia Police say they were dispatched to the scene of a fender-bender on South Three Notch Street shortly after 10:00 Friday night. When an officer arrived on the scene he found 30-year-old Jhimmy David Hernandez Carranza attempting to leave the area. The officer noted Carranza was "obviously intoxicated." As a result, Carranza was placed in the back seat of the patrol car until the officer could clear the scene. Lt. Paul Dean says that's when Carranza started getting violent. "He started kicking the back window of the patrol car in an attempt to get out. When the officer tried to calm the suspect down, Carranza resisted. The officer deployed a chemical agent which had no effect." Dean explained it took two officers, two firefighters and a civilian to subdue the man and place him in handcuffs. When Carranza was lifted to his feet he once again resisted and shouted 'I'm going to kill you' at the officer and spit in his face. Four people charged during the weekend under Alabama’s new immigration law pleaded guilty Monday in Decatur Municipal Court. .....http://andalusia.wsfa.com/news/crime/118320-police-intoxicat ed-man-who-threatened-officer-was-illegal-immigrant Harmless illegal ? The four would have been released after pleading to willful failure to procure alien registration documents, a Class C misdemeanor under Section 10 of the law, but Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials had placed holds on them earlier Monday. Each agreed to a fine of $100, $196 in court costs, and a 30-day suspended sentence with 12 months of probation. It was unclear whether anyone at the arraignment was aware ICE had already placed detainers on the defendants. “I wasn’t aware of an ICE hold. I had no idea if they were going to be detained by ICE at the time,” said City Prosecutor Emily Prater. “... I rarely deal with ICE unless they contact me directly about a particular charge on somebody.” Paula Soto Navarro, 29, expressed to the judge, through a translator, that she was eager to get the case over with and get out of jail. http://decaturdaily.com/stories/Crackdown-on-illegals- begins-here-4-arrested,86204 Authorities said two Hanover Park officers were conducting a routine late-night check at First Stop Auto Repair, 1822 Irving Park Road, when they encountered four intoxicated people, including the shop's co-owner. The group became abusive and rushed, grabbed, punched and shoved the officers, attempted to take one officer's gun, and tried to prevent arrests, authorities said. The three offenders believed to be in the U.S. illegally were released after posting 10 percent of their $5,000 bail, despite a detainer request by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. The suspects are due back in court at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26. Hanover Park Police Chief David Webb told Craig that the sheriff's department supervisor at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse “would not cooperate” with ICE agents trying to have them detained. http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20110926/news/709269 933/ Yes they release illegals assault cops..

Where did the Suzuki of Huntsville go?
Question:
I live in Huntsville, Alabama. I own a Suzuki and Sunday when I rode down University I saw that it was closed. Now, I had heard that the one in Decatur had closed but I did not know that the one in Huntsville was. Now I am really upset because my car is a 2008 and the closest dealer that I know of that is still open is in Nashville. But, I also heard that the Repair Department is still open but no sales are being made. Does anyone know what is going on or maybe someone can help. Thanks.

Answer:
In the event that no Suzuki dealer is within reasonable driving distance repairs can be made at a shop of your choice and the repair bill sent in to Suzuki for reimbursement. Repairs will take much longer due to parts ordering. Please read the owners manual for details. You also have the 800 number listed in the owners manual that you call to see if there is a closer dealer. Many dealers (not just Suzuki) are closing due to the auto industry downturn.

Can I beat a stop sign citation?
Question:
I received a traffic citation tonight for failure to stop at a stop sign. I have lived in alabama for one year and a half and still own a home in Tennessee. I know I stopped at this stop sign, it is the road I live on and there is a cycle shop (where the officer was sitting) about 100 yards from where I turn onto the road to where the officer said I did not stop at. It was at night and it was totally dark there is not street lights on either of these roads. The officer that stopped me is a trinity city police officer and my address on the road where he said I did not stop on is a decatur address not Trinity. The officer ask me sir can you tell me why you did not stop at that stop sign - I said officer I did stop at that stop sign and he looked at me like it pissed him off because I didn't agree with him. And he said I have another officer in the car with me who said you did not stop either. So I ask the officer "sir I know I stopped at that stop sign, it is totally dark outside and that street has no lights, are you sure you had that good of a view of that street". And he told me sir I followed your lights with my eyes and the lights never came to a complete stop. He said I will be right back and wrote me a ticket. I know I stopped at this stop sign. Do I have an argument?

Answer:
I would be careful about trying to get out of tickets it can be more trouble then it is worth. Is it possible that you did not come to a complete stop but just slowed way down and it was safe so you figured you were slow enough I now I have done that before. because if that is the case then he can give you a ticket even though you were pretty much stopped. But it is possible that you did stop but I would just let it go and pay the fine instead of fighting it. Because regardless of if you stopped or not it would not be a very good chance of winning because you would be going against two officers that said they saw you and sure it was dark and the street was not well light but you would be simply seen as the person of hundreds of others trying to get out of a ticket. you might win but small chance.
